Dry stone walls

Double Walls

Foundation stones ideally laid into the ground, with two rows next to one another, rows are constructed using large flattish stones, diminishing in size as the wall rises. 

Larger stones are used a ties between rows and voids between stones are often filled with smaller stones.

Boulder Walls

A single skin wall consisting of large boulders around which smaller ones are placed. Larger flatter stones are generally found near the bases with sizes tapering nearer the top of the wall.
